Room 1 has a lot of persuasive writers!

This week saw Room 1 tamariki advertising their string artwork on our Te Mahia School Facebook page. They had to persuade viewers to buy their amazing artwork and really sell it.  The children had to writing a persuasive piece inviting a response on their string art.

By doing this the students would also gain an understanding of:
·       The importance of knowing your customers and marketing for them.
·       Trialling a range of chosen products on their consumer group and identifying their product preferences.
·       Selling products at a fundraiser/stall or online and using the power of persuasion to sell products.

The tamariki have had some amazing feedback on their artwork and the prices people are bidding are much more than they expected. Check out Room 1's talent in the link to our  Te Mahia School Facebook page and whilst your at it put a bid in. Happy Bidding whanau!!

Whakarewa Beach Run

The weather was doubtful, but the clouds and fog lifted, the sun came out and our tamariki once again put their best foot forward. Many thanks to our sports coordinator Miss Kereru who coordinated this event, another great turn out with our children’s loyal supporters. Every single child at school completed this event, some pushing themselves again to another level. Watching their faces as they crossed the finish line was gold and they all need to be super proud of themselves!  Congratulations to our place getters: Junior 1st Place Ryan Campbell, 2nd place Keylia McAlpine 3rd place Waitama Crowley.
