Gold Medal Athlete Visits Te Mahia Kura

The New Zealand Olympic organisation contacted schools to identify who would like a school visit by an athlete. Danyon Loader had been visiting school in Gisborne and made the trip down to Te Mahia School on Thursday 11th April. Danyon spoke about how he loved water from a young age, but decided to get competitive when he had to choose between football and swimming. Swimming has taken him all over the world and he is the only New Zealander to have received 2 gold medals at the olympics. Danyon was only to keen to share his ideas about the importance of working/training hard and believing in yourself to achieve great results.
